Even little ones have been bitten by the ballroom bug! If you’re searching for an alternative to the traditional avenue of ballet, tap, and jazz, or wanting to expand your child’s creative horizons, ballroom dancing may be the answer. Partner dancing provides a unique experience that the other forms of dance do not. Dance as a whole is a powerful ally in the development of a growing child. Dance helps children mature physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. Dancing with a partner requires good balance, a sense of rhythm, and strong body awareness and develops relationships necessary for close teamwork. Children are taught to understand their bodies as well as their partner’s. The maturity it takes to dance together fosters respect, civility, cooperation, and confidence.
That being said, we are also about fun at City Ballroom! We encourage your child to explore their creativity and self-expression. We are committed to educating the dancers of the future and hope to foster a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance.
We are currently accepting students ages 6-10. Please contact us for more information on the Children’s Group Class. We look forward to working with you!
“We finished our wedding first dance routine well ahead of schedule which gave us plenty of time to clean up some finer points such as hand placement and where to look when holding a position. We have two different lifts and a dip in our approximately 2min routine and a whole lot of turns!”

“When the Corsair Blue Jazz Orchestra arrived at the Lancaster Marriott to perform for the 2015 Veritas spring formal we were told that a dance instructor would start off the night with a lesson. Once out on the dance floor, in about fifteen minutes Becca was able to communicate to the crowd of three hundred seeing them smiling and having a great timeThere is no doubt in my mind that her instruction and support, imparted with good humor, made the dancers more comfortable and the event more successful for the organizers and for our band. We are looking forward to working with Becca again!”

“Becca is a dancing bundle of joy! Her very outgoing attitude and honesty make easy what could be a very awkward time. With Becca, she is fun and easy to be around and we still kept on point with the task at hand. My fiancé has zero rhythm and no dance background but found it easy to keep up with Becca.”

“We’ve had the privilege and pleasure of working with Becca over the past several years. Her consistently upbeat demeanor and always positive, innovatively creative and empathetic approach to teaching has given us a truly memorable and relaxed learning experience!”

“Becca not only provided refresher lessons for me, but gave me more advanced moves that build on the basic moves I relearned. Becca is very enthusiastic and passionate about dance; every lesson I not only learn dance steps, but I learn how to feel the music I am dancing to.”
“I’ve been taking dance lessons from Rebecca for several years now, progressing at my own pace. She’s wonderful, fun, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. For me, learning ballroom dancing equals City Ballroom.”
“I was looking for dance classes for my 7 and 8 year old daughters other than the traditional ballet, tap and jazz. As a social dancer and an amateur ballroom dancer, I experience the joy and benefits of dancing into adulthood. I want the same for my girls, so youth ballroom dance lessons were a natural choice. I’m delighted to have found Becca and City Ballroom. Becca makes lessons fun and engaging, while kids learn the basics of the main smooth and rhythm dances.”
